Yeah, yeah. Rules. If we can all behave ourselves, then this isn't going to be a big deal. This is just for those who insist on acting like a dumbass - we can point to this and tell you why you're banned from the community.
As we're a writing site, I think the number one rule is obvious - NO PLAGIARISM. Do not copy and paste someone else's work and claim it as your own. We find you doing this, and goodbye. You're not wanted here. As an extension, don't steal someone's ideas. While this is a little harder to prove than blatant plagiarism, if you have a history of people claiming you took their ideas, we're probably going to be saying goodbye to you as well.
Be respectful to others. Don't call people names. Don't post sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, etc. things. Everyone is welcome in this community, so keep asshole opinions to yourself. Don't like someone's religion? Don't like gay people? Too bad. Here, you're going to remain respectful, and if you can't or won't do that, there's plenty of other places on the Internet for you.
If you're leaving comments, don't just say you didn't like it, and definitely don't be rude about it. Leave constructive criticism so they can improve. Don't bring anyone down - everyone has to start somewhere.
If you've received a critique, don't get mad at the critic just because you don't like what they said. If you're doing something wrong and it's pointed out, don't try to defend it. You can discuss it if you really don't think they're right, but don't act like a brat about it.
You must follow all rules of other sites. Since we may have a variety of different sites where people post their work, you need to follow the rules of those sites when you're on them. You also are not allowed to take part in behaviors that are not allowed on other sites. For example, Wattpad does not allow vote trading or even asking for votes, so you may not do that here either.
That's it for the rules. I think it's simple and mostly common courtesy, but since this is the Internet, it probably needs to be said. Feel free to discuss these rules if you don't like something, or if you think more needs to be added.
